I saw it happen with my Ma...This is so very true!! I saw it happen with my Mamma, I could see her in desperate need of some away time and it was hard to work out for various reasons (she sometimes felt guilty about it, schedule conflicts etc) but we tried to make it happen for her. I imagine the road is much more difficult for those whose families' don't recognize the need for the caregiver to have a break. I think what I miss more than anything is going to my daughters and staying a few days. (by myself) I am going to have to learn all over again how to "take care of me."
