Begin by thanking Him for some little thing, and then go on, day by day, adding to your subjects of praise; thus you will find their numbers grow wonderfully; and, in the same proportion, will your subjects of murmuring and complaining diminish, until you see in everything some cause for thanksgiving. ----Priscilla Maurice

So true. But it is difficult to be grateful when one is not aware of the truth...that all that we have is there by the grace of God...every breath, every thing that contributes to life, everything. So when I am down I begin my thankfulness with God's provisions. He gives me everything I need.

I'm trying to learn to be grateful for the "little" things that He allows me to experience. A nice cup of coffee, a blue sky, laughter shared with my child, a look of love in my husband's eye.

And, yes, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:7
